JANKA Thick Women’s Wool Beanie 118 Ciemne Winogrona
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
JANKA is a handmade wool beanie in a chunky version, with an extended back and no turn-up, designed for autumn and winter. Click on your size to check availability — you’ll see whether that variant is ready to ship or made to order.
When this style makes sense
This version works well if you’re looking for a noticeably thicker beanie for colder days and prefer a looser, oversized shape at the back. It’s a good choice for everyday wear in autumn and winter, especially if you like a chunky-knit beanie with a calm, simple look. The no-turn-up design creates a different effect from classic folded beanies, so it suits people who do not want an extra layer at the forehead. If you already know you need a completely neutral feel against the skin, this fibre content may not be the best choice.
Wool and how it feels to wear
The beanie is handmade with knitting needles from 100% sheep’s wool. When choosing yarns like this, I consider not only how the knit looks, but also how it behaves in everyday wear: here, the surface is smooth with a light halo, and the yarn is certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.
Please note: this wool may feel itchy on very sensitive skin, so if you react strongly to natural fibres, it’s worth taking that into account before buying. For care, it’s best to follow the usual rules for wool — I’ve briefly described them in the guide how to care for wool.
Shape and fit
This is a beanie with an extended back, so it does not fit closely along its full length but sits more loosely at the top. This shape gives a more relaxed effect than a short, close-fitting beanie and works well with a thicker knit. The lack of a turn-up also means less bulk around the forehead, while creating different proportions from styles with a double layer at the front. The rib stitch helps the shape adapt flexibly to the head without losing its oversized character.
What this means in everyday use
- Chunky knit – gives noticeably more thermal coverage, so this style works better in the colder part of the season than as a lightweight in-between-season beanie.
- 100% sheep’s wool – a natural material for those looking for a wool beanie without synthetic blends.
- Single rib – improves the beanie’s elasticity, helping the shape keep its structure rather than looking flat when worn.
- Oversized shape with an extended back – the beanie sits more loosely at the back, creating a less sporty and more relaxed visual effect.
- No turn-up – the front stays simpler and less bulky, which can be a good option if you do not like an extra layer at the forehead.
- Handmade with knitting needles – each piece is made individually, with attention to stitch tension and finishing during the making process.
- Moderate resistance to pilling and hand wash only – this style needs more careful care, so it is best suited to people who are comfortable with the usual maintenance requirements of natural wool.
