SOAK wash is my secret for keeping handmade pieces looking beautiful for years. I use it to care for the things I make myself – hats, scarves, cowls and blankets – and I recommend it to everyone who owns my knits. It helps you take care of your woollen pieces easily, keeping them soft, fresh and full of life.

The best care for your wool hats, cowls and scarves

If you have one of my hats, cowls or shawls, SOAK is the perfect gentle wash to care for them. Just add a small amount to cool water – no rubbing, no rinsing. After about 20 minutes of soaking and gentle drying, the wool becomes soft and springy again, and the knit looks fresh, like new. It’s a delicate, rinse-free detergent that cleans without damaging fibres, preserving their natural properties.

For makers – before and after finishing your project

SOAK is also a must-have in my studio. I always use it after finishing a project, because washing is a key step that gives knits their final shape. A soak in SOAK removes manufacturing residues from the yarn, evens out stitches and makes the fabric soft and even. It’s the moment when every handmade piece truly comes to life – taking on form, flow and its finished look.

How to use SOAK – gentle handwashing made easy

Using SOAK couldn’t be simpler: one teaspoon per bowl of cool water is enough. I soak the item for about 15 minutes, gently press out the water and lay it flat to dry. No rinsing needed – the dirt stays in the water while your piece stays soft and clean. SOAK comes in 5 ml sachets (great for testing or travel) and large, long-lasting 375 ml bottles that will last through many washes. I know what I’m talking about – I’ve made hundreds of hats :D and I wash each one before it’s ready to wear.

Gentle, effective and safe for delicate fibres

SOAK was created for the most delicate fibres – merino, alpaca, silk and cashmere. It contains no harsh chemicals or irritants, making it safe even for washing baby items. Its subtle scents (and unscented version) turn washing into a small, pleasant ritual instead of a chore. It’s my little secret to keeping handmade pieces looking and feeling beautiful long after they’re made.
