JANKA Thick Women’s Wool Beanie 119 Wino Śliwkowe
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
JANKA is a handmade chunky wool beanie made from 100% sheep’s wool, designed for autumn and winter, with a distinctive elongated back and no turn-up brim. Availability depends on the size you choose — click the selected variant to see whether the beanie is ready to ship or made to order.
When this shape makes sense
This style is for those looking for a warm winter beanie with a looser, more relaxed fit on the head than classic short styles. It works well for cold autumn days and winter, especially when a more defined shape and substantial knit are what matter. If you prefer close-fitting, short beanies or styles with a turn-up, this cut may not give the effect you want. It is also not the best choice if you need the gentlest possible feel against the skin.
Wool in everyday wear
I also choose yarns with practicality in mind, and here the composition is simple: 100% sheep’s wool from yarn certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. The knit has a smooth surface with a slight halo, so it does not look synthetic and keeps the natural, slightly raw character typical of wool.
Please note: if your skin is very sensitive, this material may feel slightly itchy. Wool also needs careful care — you can find the key points in this short guide to wool care.
How it sits on the head
This is an oversized beanie, so it does not create a sharp, sporty line close to the head. Instead, it leaves more volume and extends the shape at the back. The lack of a turn-up makes it look visually lighter than styles with a wide folded brim, even though the knit itself is clearly thick. The rib structure helps the beanie adjust better in wear, but the overall effect will suit best those who like a slightly looser fit than a classic beanie.
What follows from its construction
- Thick single-strand knit – gives a distinctly warm, protective feel suited to the colder part of autumn and winter.
- Hand-knitted – gives it a more artisanal character and avoids the look of flat, mass-produced knitwear.
- Single rib stitch – helps the beanie adapt with wear and keeps the vertical knit pattern neat and structured.
- Oversized beanie shape with an elongated back – creates a looser profile, so it works better with relaxed outfits than with very fitted, minimalist looks.
- No turn-up brim – the beanie does not add an extra layer at the edge, so it looks less bulky around the face than folded styles.
- Pilling resistance: medium – with normal wear, the surface may change slightly over time, which is typical for natural wool.
- Colour 119 Plum Wine in a burgundy-brown tone – gives a dark, muted effect that is less sharp than pure red and easier to combine with neutral outerwear.
