38 Olive Handmade Winter Slouchy Beanie Baby Merino Wool
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
The thick slouchy beanie in colour 38 Olive is a handmade 100% baby merino beanie, made from five strands held together. The multicoloured knit combines olive green with lighter and brown tones, and the loose fit without a folded cuff sits softly at the back of the head. Available pieces and made-to-order options may vary by size. Click your chosen size to check the current availability or making time.
When does this thick merino slouchy beanie work best?
This style is designed mainly for colder autumn and winter days. It works well if you do not like close-fitting beanies and prefer more room at the crown. At the same time, the substantial thickness of the knit means it is not a thin beanie to wear under a helmet.
Baby merino and skin contact
The beanie is made from five strands of 100% baby merino. The knit has a smooth surface without a fuzzy halo, so it does not create the skin-tickling effect typical of fluffy yarns. This style is marked as suitable for sensitive skin, although with a very high sensitivity to wool, reactions can always vary from person to person.
Baby merino is resilient and returns well to its shape during wear. The yarn holds an Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, Class I certificate, confirming it has been tested for harmful substances.
No cuff and an extended back
This is a slouchy beanie without a turned-up cuff, with extra room at the back. This construction does not create a tight, cap-like fit and also works well if you have a lot of hair. The style is available in children's, women's and men's versions.
Colour 38 Olive in practice
- five combined strands create a thick knit that wraps the head well on colder days
- olive green is mixed with lighter and rusty brown accents, creating a multicoloured marl effect
- the smooth stitch lets you clearly see the arrangement of the individual strands
- the natural elasticity of merino helps the beanie return to shape after being taken off
- medium resistance to pilling means that with frequent wear, small pills may appear over time
- because each piece is made by hand, individual beanies may vary slightly in colour placement
Finishing details and care
The beanie is finished with a detachable Nitkowe Love tag made from eco-leather. If you would like to put together a set for colder days, you can also see our matching shawls, wraps and snoods made from natural fibres.
Merino wool should be hand washed and dried flat. You can find more information in our guide to wool care.
