For Hand Finishing Limited Collection Product
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
Wool beanie with a turn-up from the VARELLA collection. This is a medium-weight beanie for autumn and winter, handmade from smooth knit fabric in multicolour version 2911. Availability depends on the option you choose — click your size to check whether the beanie is ready to ship or made to order.
What kind of weather and needs it suits
This style works well if you are looking for a wool beanie for everyday wear on colder days, especially if you want a more distinctive colourway than a classic solid shade. Version 2911 combines stripes of pink, blue, purple and brown, so each piece has its own colour transitions. It is a good choice for autumn, winter and changeable weather, but it is not a very warm winter hat for severe frost. If you want the smoothest possible feel with no risk of itchiness, this model may not be the best option for very sensitive skin.
Composition and feel against the skin
I made this beanie from yarn composed of 75% wool, 25% polyamide. This blend keeps the natural presence of wool while also supporting everyday wear, but against the skin it still feels like classic non-fuzzy wool rather than anything fluffy or brushed.
For very sensitive skin, the beanie may feel slightly itchy, so it is worth taking that into account before buying. For care, it is best to follow wool-specific guidelines — you can find a short guide here: wool care.
Shape and fit
This is a close-fitting beanie style, handmade on a knitting machine. The turn-up helps define the line around the face and gives a more secure fit on the head than thin single-layer styles without a cuff. The single rib works with the natural movement of the knit, so the shape sits better on the head and does not look stiff. If you are looking for a beanie with a loose, slouchy back, this model is not designed in that direction.
What this means in wear
- Medium weight – gives warmth suited to autumn and winter without feeling heavy or bulky on the head.
- Turn-up cuff – adds extra coverage around the ears and forehead, which works better on windier days.
- Single rib – helps the beanie adapt to the shape of the head and reduces the chance of the knit sticking out awkwardly.
- Smooth surface without fuzz – the colour pattern looks cleaner and more defined, without a fluffy texture.
- Multicolour yarn in shade 2911 – each piece forms the stripes differently, so no two are exactly the same.
- Handmade on a knitting machine – helps keep the stitch even and the finish neat throughout the whole beanie.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with regular wear, typical signs of use may appear over time, as is normal for wool knitwear.
