VARELLA Turn-Up Baby Merino Wool Beanie 100% 64 jasny dąb
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
VARELLA is a handmade merino wool beanie made from 100% Baby Merino. It is a medium-weight style for autumn and winter, with a smooth finish and a turn-up brim. Availability depends on the size you choose — click the variant to check whether it is ready to ship or made to order.
Weather and everyday use
This style is for those looking for a beanie for colder days, but without a bulky, heavy feel. It works well for everyday wear in autumn and winter, especially if you want a calm, easy-to-match light oak colour. Thanks to its close fit, it also sits well under a hood. If you need a beanie for severe frost without an extra layer, or prefer a very loose fit, it is better to choose a thicker or less fitted style.
Yarn and feel against the skin
I chose 100% Baby Merino because, in practice, it is one of those yarns that often works well for sensitive skin. The knit is smooth, without a fuzzy surface, and the yarn is certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, which gives clearer information about the material.
Like any wool that needs gentle handling, this beanie requires hand washing; a short guide is here: wool care.
How it fits
This is a beanie with a close-fitting shape, made in a single rib stitch, so it has good flexibility when putting it on and wearing it. The turn-up brim gives a neat line around the forehead and ears, and the overall shape stays defined without looking overdone. As shown in the photos, the crown is not stiff, so the beanie sits naturally. If you want a very roomy oversized look, this style will be too close to the head.
What it offers in daily wear
- 100% Baby Merino – gives you a wool beanie with a gentler feel against the skin than more rustic yarns.
- Medium weight – suitable from autumn into winter, without the feel of a heavy, very thick hat.
- Smooth knit surface without fuzz – gives the style a cleaner, calmer look rather than a fluffy effect.
- Single rib stitch – improves elasticity, so the beanie adapts better to the shape of the head.
- Turn-up brim – reinforces the area around the ears and forehead, which in practice adds comfort on colder days.
- Handmade on a knitting machine – helps maintain an even, carefully finished knit structure.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with regular wear, small signs of natural use may appear over time.
Optional additions for this style
If you want to change the look of the beanie, you can choose a matching pom-pom in the same colour and made from the same yarn. You can also pair it with matching shawls, wraps and snoods if you want a coordinated set for the colder season.
