When NELLI Sea Captain is a good choice
This beanie works well if you are looking for a merino wool beanie for winter that feels cosy without being very heavy or overly thick. The Sea Captain colourway combines shades of blue with yellow and orange, which works well with everyday casual outfits and adds colour to grey days. Material and feel against the skin
This beanie is made from yarn with a composition of 75% merino, 25% polyamide, certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, which means the fibre has been tested for harmful substances. The knit is smooth, without a fuzzy surface, so it has a neat, compact look rather than a fluffy finish. To the touch, the material has a typical wool feel, with the noticeable springiness of merino.
Please note: on a very sensitive scalp, the beanie may feel slightly itchy, especially when worn directly against the skin for many hours.
Style and fit
NELLI is a turn-up beanie, hand-knitted by me on needles in a double rib stitch. This stitch moves with the shape of the head: it adapts well to the circumference without feeling tight, as long as the right size is chosen. The turn-up lets you adjust the height of the beanie – you can wear it closer to the head or with a gentle slouch at the back, without exposing the ears. The medium-weight knit means it fits under most hoods and does not create a stiff, bulky shape.
