| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |

Dark pink WATA CUKROWA 2.0 – when it’s a good choice
This style works well if you’re looking for a warm winter beanie for colder days but don’t like very stiff, heavy knits. The slightly loose, oversized shape and visible halo on the surface make it a good option if you want your beanie to be a noticeable part of your outfit, not just a background piece. I wouldn’t recommend it if you prefer completely smooth, close-fitting beanies or if you have very sensitive skin that reacts to any contact with wool. In that case, it’s better to consider gentler merino wool beanies available in the shop.
How it feels against the skin and fibre properties
The beanie is made from a blend of alpaca and merino, combined with an additional strand of 100% alpaca, which creates a thick, springy knit with a distinct soft halo. This fibre blend and structure provide good thermal insulation while keeping some breathability typical of natural fibres. In practice, the beanie feels pleasant to the touch, but on very sensitive skin it may feel slightly itchy — if you know you have this kind of sensitivity, it’s worth wearing it over a thin headband or choosing a different style.
Shape, turn-up and fit
This is an oversized turn-up beanie, hand-knitted with a flexible single rib stitch. When worn, it creates a slightly roomier back, which makes it easier to tuck in pinned-up hair or a bun while still keeping the ears covered thanks to the folded brim. The rib structure and double-strand knit help it stay in place on the head without a strong feeling of pressure, but it won’t feel as “firm” as styles with a very dense structure. The inside and outside are the same springy knit, so there is no extra smooth lining — that matters if you are looking for a completely neutral-feeling interior.
How WATA CUKROWA 2.0 works in everyday wear
- Double strand of alpaca and merino – increases the amount of warmth you feel, so it offers better protection from frost than lighter styles in this series.
- Thick, springy knit – helps block cold wind without creating a stiff “helmet” effect on the head.
- Turn-up over the ears – adds an extra layer in the area most exposed to the cold, helping maintain comfort at lower temperatures.
- Single rib throughout the beanie – allows it to adapt flexibly to the shape of the head and lets you adjust the depth of the turn-up.
- Soft, visible halo on the surface – gives the beanie a fluffy look and a visually warmer character, but it does need slightly more careful handling, as friction may cause a moderate tendency to pill.
- Dark pink colour – works as a clear accent that pairs easily with a neutral jacket or coat without making a winter outfit feel too heavy.
- Hand-knitted from Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified yarn – each beanie is shaped individually, and the yarn meets a recognised material safety standard.
Finishing details and wool care
The beanie is finished with a removable eco-leather label, which makes washing safer and also lets you wear it in a completely plain version if you prefer a more minimal look. You can pair it with matching shawls, wraps and snoods to build a more cohesive set for the colder months. To help this thick alpaca wool beanie keep its shape and the structure of its halo, it’s worth following the advice in the short guide on wool care — hand washing, gentle products and flat drying can significantly extend its lifespan.
