MARGARET 2.0 Beanie Alpaca and Mohair 4305/28 Ciemny Indygo
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
Thick handmade beanie hat MARGARET 2.0 in 100% alpaca wool with two strands of silk mohair is a non-turn-up style with a distinctly fluffy, soft surface, designed for cool autumn days, winter and early spring. You can check the availability of a specific piece after selecting the size: some beanies are ready to ship, while others are made to order.
Dark indigo – when this style is a good choice
This beanie works well if you are looking for a warm winter beanie but still want the relative lightness and breathability of natural yarn. The deep dark indigo shade pairs well with calm, muted outfits, and can also work as a darker accent with a lighter jacket. This style is not the right choice for very sensitive scalps – with this alpaca and mohair blend, a slight prickle may be noticeable. If you usually find wool uncomfortable, consider a beanie made from gentler merino instead.
How the wool feels against the head and hair
The main yarn of pure alpaca, combined with a double strand of silk mohair, creates a thick, flexible knit with a soft halo that wraps the head well and helps insulate from the cold. In practice, this means noticeable warmth in low temperatures, but without the overheating often associated with synthetics indoors or on public transport. According to the yarn manufacturer’s description, however, skin contact may still feel too intense for very sensitive people – in that case, it is better to choose a different yarn with a smoother finish.
Shape, fit and how it sits
The beanie has an oversized beanie shape without a turn-up, made in a double rib that stays in place well without feeling tight. The ribbed construction naturally adjusts to the head circumference, making it easy to wear it higher on the head or pulled lower over the ears, depending on how much warmth you want. Without a folded brim, the style sits softly and with a slimmer look, without extra bulk at the forehead – helpful if you prefer to avoid very chunky hats.
How this beanie works in everyday wear
- Thick three-strand alpaca and mohair knit – gives a high level of protection from the cold through autumn, winter and early spring, without feeling heavy on the head.
- Double rib throughout – helps keep the beanie stable on the head, so it does not slip easily when walking or cycling.
- No turn-up and an oversized shape – lets you adjust how deep you wear it and makes room for longer hair tied lower down.
- Visible soft halo on the surface – visually softens the line of the face and adds a little fullness, which can work well with simple, minimalist outerwear.
- High resistance to pilling indicated by the yarn manufacturer – helps the beanie keep a neat appearance with frequent wear during the season.
- Natural fibres that respond to conditions – help release excess heat, reducing the risk of overheating in heated interiors.
- Hand-knitted – gives the knit flexibility and allows you to order a version suited to your colour preferences within the range of available yarns.
Finishing and matching accessories
The beanie is finished with a NitkoweLove eco-leather label, which can be unclipped for washing, making care easier and helping the accessory keep its neat look for longer. If you would like a warm neck layer to go with it, you can choose a matching shawl, scarf or snood to create a coordinated set – also in versions with mohair or in other natural yarns. To preserve the qualities of alpaca wool and mohair, the beanie should be hand washed; detailed guidance is available in the wool care section, where I describe recommended detergents, water temperature and drying methods.
