VARELLA Merino Beanie 100% Baby Merino 49 Pustynna Róża
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
VARELLA beanie is a handmade merino wool beanie of medium weight, designed for autumn and winter, with a distinctive turned-up brim and a smooth knit surface. Availability depends on the selected size — click your chosen variant to check whether it is ready to ship or made to order.
For what kind of days and needs
This style works well if you are looking for an everyday beanie for the colder season, but without a heavy, bulky feel. The Desert Rose colour combines a muted pink with a beige tone, so it fits easily into calm, natural outfits. It is a good choice if you want to cover your ears and forehead without giving up a closer-fitting shape. If you need a very thick beanie for severe frost and long periods outdoors without much movement, it is worth keeping in mind that this is a medium-weight style.
Yarn and feel against the skin
I used 100% Baby Merino because in practice this type of yarn works well in direct contact with the skin and in styles worn for many hours. The knit is suitable for sensitive skin, and the yarn is certified Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.
It is still natural wool, so it should be handled gently; gentle hand washing and proper wool care are recommended.
Shape and fit
VARELLA has a beanie shape, but it stays close to the head, so it looks neat and does not create too much volume at the sides. The turned-up brim gives a cleaner line around the forehead and ears, while the rest of the beanie falls softly upward and toward the back. This style suits those who prefer a visually fitted beanie that still does not feel stiff. If you are looking for a very loose, deep oversized fit, this shape may give a more structured effect than expected.
What it offers in everyday wear
- 100% Baby Merino – the beanie works well without a lining, including when reducing discomfort around the forehead and ears is a priority.
- Medium weight – provides coverage suitable for autumn and winter, without the feel of a very heavy, armour-like hat.
- Single rib – helps the beanie move more naturally and maintain its fit with everyday wear.
- Turned-up brim – adds extra coverage in the lower part, where wind chill is usually felt most.
- Smooth knit surface without halo – the style has a clean, calm look and does not have the fluffy effect typical of halo yarns.
- Handmade on a knitting machine – helps maintain an even structure and a consistent character throughout the beanie.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with regular use, natural signs of wear may appear over time, which is typical of delicate wool.
Matching pieces
If you would like to change the character of the style, you can choose a beanie with pom-pom made from the same yarn in a matching colour. Matching shawls, wraps and snoods also work well if you would like a coordinated set from the same accessory category.
