CHMURKA Handmade Alpaca Beanie 57 Burgundy
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
CHMURKA is a handmade alpaca beanie, light and thin, designed for autumn and spring, with a soft halo and an elongated back. Availability depends on the selected option — click your size to check whether it is ready to ship or made to order.
For everyday wear and in-between seasons
This style works well if you are looking for a lightweight beanie for cooler mornings, walks, everyday outings and transitional weather. The burgundy colour stands out more than beige or grey, while still pairing easily with a neutral wardrobe. It is a good choice when you want coverage without the bulk of a heavy winter hat. If you need a warm winter beanie for strong frost or wind, it is better to choose a thicker style or one with a folded brim.
Yarn and how it feels to wear
I used a blend of 65% alpaca, 28% polyamide and 7% wool, so the beanie stays lightweight while keeping a natural, softly enveloping character. The knitted surface has a gentle halo, and the yarn is certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100.
If you have very sensitive skin, contact with the fibre may feel slightly itchy.
A shape that sits naturally without stiffness
This is a beanie without a folded brim, with a calm, classic line and a longer back. This shape sits more loosely than close-fitting styles, so it works well with everyday outfits and does not create too much volume around the face. The lack of a folded brim also means a lighter finish at the forehead, which usually suits transitional weather better than the middle of winter.
What this means in use
- Thin, lightweight knit – gives coverage for autumn and spring without feeling heavy on the head.
- Alpaca-rich composition – combines the natural character of the fibre with more practical everyday wear thanks to the added polyamide.
- Smooth stitch – gives the whole piece a calm look that pairs easily with a coat, sweater or jacket without competing with the rest of your outfit.
- Soft halo on the surface – gives the beanie a visually softer effect than styles made from completely smooth yarn.
- No folded brim – the edge at the forehead stays less bulky, but also provides a lighter layer of protection than beanies with a double edge.
- Elongated back – creates a looser fit and gives the beanie its characteristic slightly relaxed profile.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with regular wear, it is worth expecting natural surface changes typical of halo yarns.
Extras and important information
You can pair it with matching shawls, wraps and snoods if you want a coordinated set with a similar soft, enveloping character. This is a practical addition especially when a lightweight beanie is meant to work on cooler days in the transitional season.
This handmade beanie should be handled with care — hand washing is recommended. You can find a short guide here: wool care.
