VARELLA Merino Wool Beanie 104 Senny Pył Winter
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
VARELLA is a handmade merino wool beanie in a medium weight, with a turn-up cuff and a smooth knit surface, designed for autumn and winter. Availability depends on the size you choose — click the variant to check whether it is ready to ship or made to order.
What weather and needs it suits
This style works well when you need a close-fitting beanie for colder days, without too much bulk and with a gentle feel around the face. Colour 104 Dreamy Dust blends shades of pink, purple and white/ecru, so it suits those looking for a calm, softly varied colour mix. It is a good choice for everyday wear in autumn and winter. If you are looking for a very thick beanie, specifically for strong frost and wind without an extra hood, this style may feel too light.
Yarn and feel against the skin
I used 100% Baby Merino here, a yarn chosen for gentler contact with the skin. The knit is smooth, without a fuzzy surface, and the yarn is certified Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, which confirms it has been tested for harmful substances.
It is still wool, so it needs careful care — you can find a short guide here: wool care.
How it sits on the head
The beanie shape with a turn-up cuff gives a neater, closer-to-the-head look than loose, strongly oversized styles. The ribbing works with the movement of the knit, so the beanie holds its shape better during wear. The folded edge also visually defines the line around the forehead and ears. If you prefer a very relaxed style with a deeply slouchy back, this cut will not give that effect.
What this means in everyday wear
- 100% Baby Merino – gives a softer, more skin-friendly feel than many classic wool yarns.
- Medium weight – makes the beanie suitable for autumn and winter without feeling heavy on the head.
- Single rib – improves stretch, so the beanie adjusts better when putting it on and wearing it.
- Turn-up cuff – adds extra coverage around the lower part of the beanie and stabilises the line at the forehead.
- Smooth surface without fuzz – reduces the fluffy effect, so the overall look feels cleaner and calmer.
- Handmade on a knitting machine – helps maintain an even knit structure and a consistent finish.
- Pilling resistance: medium – with regular use, signs of natural wear may appear over time, as is typical for delicate wool.
Matching accessories
If you would like to change the character of this style, you can add a matching pom-pom in the same yarn and a coordinated colour. matching shawls, wraps and snoods also work well with it if you want a coordinated set for the colder season.
