WATA CUKROWA 2.0 Women's Alpaca and Merino Wool Beanie 15/2020 Beige
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
WATA CUKROWA 2.0 is a thick handmade women’s beanie with a folded brim. This oversized style is made from an alpaca and merino blend and designed for cool autumn days and winter frost. When the beige WATA CUKROWA 2.0 is a good choice
This style is a good option if you are looking for a warm winter beanie for frost and wind, but do not like heavy, stiff knits. It works well for everyday wear in the city as well as trips to colder places. The beige shade suits you if you want a calm, understated colour that does not dominate an outfit. It may not be the best choice, however, if you need a completely smooth beanie without any halo or if you have a very sensitive scalp.
How it feels against the skin and the character of the knit
This beanie is made from two yarns: the main yarn is a blend of alpaca and wool, and the second is 100% alpaca. Together they create a thick, fluffy knit with a distinct soft halo. This structure wraps well, insulates effectively, and still lets the skin breathe in changing autumn and winter conditions. The yarns are certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. For some people who are very sensitive to wool, the natural halo may cause a slight itch, so if you have strong sensory sensitivity, a smoother merino style may be a better choice.
Fit, folded brim and shape
This is an oversized beanie with a folded brim, hand-knitted in a single rib stitch. The flexible structure helps it sit well on the head and hold its shape without feeling rigid or tight. The folded brim adds an extra layer over the ears and forehead, giving more protection from cold and gusts of wind. Because of its thickness and volume, it is best suited to people who like visibly substantial, slightly fluffy handmade beanies rather than thin, close-fitting styles.
How it works in everyday wear
- Thick knit made with two alpaca and wool yarns – gives a high level of warmth in frost and cold wind.
- Rib stitch – adds stretch, so the beanie adapts to the shape of the head and does not slip easily during the day.
- Distinct soft halo – creates a cosy, slightly feathered look, but may be noticeable on very sensitive skin.
- Folded brim over the ears – acts as an extra insulating layer where we usually feel the cold most.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with frequent wear, natural bobbling may appear and can be gently removed from time to time with a suitable wool comb or fabric shaver.
- Natural fibre composition – supports thermal comfort in changing conditions, so the head does not overheat as easily as it may in beanies made from synthetic fibres.
- Hand wash – requires gentle care, but helps the knit keep its shape and character for longer.
Finishing details and matching accessories
The beanie is hand-knitted, which allows careful control over the stitch density and the structure of the folded brim, making it well suited to autumn and winter conditions. It is finished with a Nitkowe Love eco-leather label, which can be easily unclipped for washing if you prefer to clean the beanie without any extras. You can pair the beige WATA CUKROWA 2.0 with colour-matched matching shawls, wraps and snoods to create a cohesive winter set, including alpaca scarves if you would like a similar type of fibre.
To help maintain its shape and the softness of the fibres, I recommend gentle hand washing and wool care as described in the guide. Water that is too hot or strong detergents may speed up felting and pilling in the knit.
