VARELLA Merino Wool Beanie 100% Baby Merino 05 Light Pink
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
VARELLA beanie in light pink is made from 100% Baby Merino. It is a thin, smooth beanie for spring and autumn with an extended back. Availability depends on the size selected — click your chosen variant to see whether it is ready to ship or made to order.
For everyday wear when you want lightness and a calm look
This style works well as a thin merino beanie for cooler mornings, transitional weather and everyday outings when you do not need a thick layer. The light pink shade is soft and clean, without any marl effect, so it pairs easily with lighter and neutral clothing. It is a good choice if you want gentle contact with the skin and low bulk on the head. It is not designed for severe frost, though, or for anyone looking for a thick, cocooning finish.
Yarn and how it feels to wear
I used 100% Baby Merino certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, and the knit has a smooth surface without a fuzzy halo. In practice, this gives a more orderly feel against the skin, without fluffy fibres around the face, which is why this style is also suitable for sensitive skin.
Wool needs gentle care: the manufacturer recommends hand washing. A short guide is available here: wool care.
A shape that sits naturally without a turn-up
This is a merino wool beanie in a classic beanie shape, but without a turn-up, so the edge looks lighter and less layered at the forehead. The extended back means the beanie does not end right at the head but falls more loosely at the back. This cut usually suits those who prefer a less technical, softer shape. If you are looking for a very close, short fit, this style may feel too loose at the back.
What its construction means in everyday use
- Lightweight knit – easier to wear in transitional weather than in full winter conditions.
- Single rib knit – the fabric stretches as you put it on and adjusts better to the shape of the head.
- No turn-up – the beanie stays lighter and less built-up around the forehead and ears.
- Extended back – the shape sits more loosely than a short, close-fitting beanie.
- Smooth knit surface – a clean, calm look without a brushed or fuzzy effect.
- Handmade on a knitting machine – the knit is even and consistent across the whole surface.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with regular wear, it is worth expecting natural signs of use.
Matching accessories
If you would like to add a matching pom-pom, you can choose one made from the same yarn and colour-matched to the beanie. Shawls, wraps and snoods also work well with it if you want a coordinated set from the same accessory range. The beanie is finished with a detachable eco-leather label, which can be removed before washing.
