CHMURKA Turn-Up Alpaca Beanie 41 Słodka Orchidea
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |

When this style makes sense, and when a different beanie may be a better choice
This style works well if you are looking for a warm winter beanie and like soft knitwear with a visible halo and a turn-up around the ears. It suits everyday wear from chilly autumn through a typical winter, especially if you want comfort combined with a distinct yet still understated colour. It may not be the best choice for very sensitive scalps, as wool and alpaca can sometimes feel slightly prickly. If you are looking for a completely smooth interior without animal fibres, it is worth considering a different style.
Yarn, fluffiness and feel against the skin
This beanie is made from a yarn with a high proportion of alpaca, blended with wool and synthetic fibres, which helps keep the knit light, springy and able to hold its shape well. The stitch creates a texture with a delicate halo, giving it a soft feel and the characteristic cloud-like look. Against the skin, the material feels pleasantly soft, but for people with very sensitive scalps it may cause a slight prickly sensation. In that case, wearing a thin headband or snood underneath may help.
Shape, turn-up and fit
The CHMURKA style is a classic beanie with a turn-up and a slightly oversized character – once on, the extra knit settles softly at the back of the head. The single rib structure helps the beanie sit well around the forehead and ears without feeling overly tight. The turn-up creates a double layer of knit around the lower part, adding more warmth where it is usually needed most. I make each piece by hand on knitting needles, so after being worn a few times the knit naturally adjusts to the shape of the head while keeping its elasticity.
Practical features
- Yarn with a high alpaca content and added wool – provides noticeable warmth in typical autumn and winter conditions while keeping the beanie relatively lightweight.
- Medium-weight knit – suitable for both city wear and relaxed walks, without feeling heavy on the head.
- Turn-up around the ears – creates an extra layer of insulation, which is helpful in wind and lower temperatures.
- Ribbed stitch throughout – helps the beanie stay securely in place and reduces slipping during movement.
- Delicate halo on the surface – gives the beanie a soft-looking, gently enveloping texture typical of alpaca beanies.
- High resistance to pilling – helps reduce the risk of quick visual wear, provided wool care guidelines are followed.
- Sweet Orchid, a cool-toned purple – brightens everyday outfits while staying understated enough to work with neutral outerwear.
Finishing details and matching accessories
The beanie is handmade on knitting needles, which allows control over the density of the knit and the stitch to suit the character of the yarn. It is finished with a Nitkowe Love eco-leather label, which can be unclipped before washing to make care easier. If you would like to create a coordinated set, you can add a matching shawl, scarf or snood – see the current options in matching shawls, wraps and snoods. The beanie should be washed by hand in lukewarm water; detailed guidance can be found in the wool care guide, which will help it keep its shape and appearance for longer.
