WATA CUKROWA Alpaca Beanie 21 Blue
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |

Light blue WATA CUKROWA – when it’s a good choice
This beanie works well if you’re looking for a warm yet very lightweight winter beanie that doesn’t feel heavy on the head and sits well for everyday wear. The fine knit with alpaca and merino offers comfort on cold autumn and winter days, without overheating in the city. It may not be enough as your only protection in strong mountain wind or during very long periods outdoors in freezing temperatures – in those conditions, a thicker 100% alpaca or 100% merino beanie will be a better choice. The pale blue shade suits those looking for a calm, pastel colour that doesn’t dominate an outfit.
Material and feel on the skin
The beanie is made from yarn with a high proportion of alpaca wool, blended with merino wool and a small amount of polyamide, which contributes to the lightness and resilience of the knit. The soft, visible halo creates a cosy layer between the skin and the surroundings, while still allowing the head to breathe in everyday use. Because of the natural fibres and the fluffy texture, the beanie may feel slightly itchy on very sensitive skin – in that case, it may be worth wearing it over a thin headband or choosing a style with a different fibre composition.
Oversize fit and shape
This is an oversize beanie with a folded brim, made in a 1x1 rib stitch, so it adapts to the shape of the head without feeling tight. The folded brim lets you adjust the height of the beanie – you can wear it closer to the head or with a little extra slouch at the top. The flexible rib knit moves with wear, which helps keep the beanie in place during everyday activity. The children’s and women’s versions differ in circumference, so when choosing, it’s best to go by the standard hat size that usually fits that head well.
How it performs in everyday wear
- Thin, lightweight knit – gives a sense of warmth without weight, which is practical for all-day wear in the city or on the way to work or school.
- Alpaca and merino blend – provides good insulation from the cold while still allowing the scalp to breathe during temperature changes between outdoors and indoors.
- Fluffy, soft halo – creates a visually airy, cotton-like texture that gives the beanie character and a cosy feel to the touch.
- Rib stitch – increases stretch and helps the beanie adapt to the head, reducing slipping during movement.
- Folded brim – adds an extra layer of knit around the ears, which gives better protection from cooler wind in everyday conditions.
- Moderate pilling resistance – with frequent wear, small pills may appear on the surface, so it’s worth removing them from time to time to keep the beanie looking neat.
- Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified yarn – means the yarn has been tested for harmful substances, which may matter to those who pay close attention to the materials worn next to the skin.
Extras and care
This handmade beanie is finished with a removable eco-leather logo tag from Nitkowe Love, which can be easily taken off before washing to help protect it. You can pair it with matching shawls, wraps and snoods if you’re looking for a coordinated, warm set for autumn and winter. To help a natural wool beanie keep its shape and qualities for longer, it needs gentle care – you’ll find detailed guidance in the wool care guide, where I explain step by step how to hand wash and dry knits like this.
