HELLI Merino Wool Winter Beanie 25 Lawenda
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
The HELLI beanie is a handmade merino wool beanie in a medium weight, designed for autumn and winter, with a smooth surface and a slightly extended back. Availability depends on the size selected — click your size to check whether this style is ready to ship or made to order.
When it works well
This style works well if you want a winter beanie without a turn-up that wraps the head without looking heavy or bulky. The lavender colour feels calm and soft, so it pairs easily with both lighter and darker outerwear. It is a good choice for everyday wear during the colder months. If you are looking for a very close fit around the head or a thick beanie for strong frost, a different shape may suit you better.
Yarn and feel against the skin
I used 100% Baby Merino, a yarn known for feeling gentler against the skin than classic wool. The knit is smooth, without a fuzzy finish, and the yarn is certified to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, which confirms it has been tested for harmful substances.
This style may work well for sensitive skin, but as with any wool, the feel remains individual.
Shape and fit
HELLI has a beanie shape with a slightly extended back, so it does not end right at the crown and falls more casually at the back. The lack of a turn-up keeps the line of the beanie simple and visually lighter. This shape gives a more everyday than sporty look. If you usually choose styles that fit tightly around the forehead and ears with a thick folded brim, this one will feel noticeably lighter.
What this means in everyday wear
- 100% Baby Merino – gives a soft, natural feel against the skin and works well without an extra lining.
- Medium weight – offers warmth suited to autumn and winter without the effect of a very heavy, fluffy beanie.
- Double ribbed brim – adds elasticity to the knit, helping the beanie fit the head better.
- Smooth surface without fuzz – reduces the impression of itchiness and gives a cleaner, more structured look.
- No turn-up – reduces bulk at the forehead and keeps the shape simpler and less built up.
- Extended back – gives the style a more relaxed drape instead of a tight line at the crown.
- Hand-knitted – allows me to control the stitch and tension, resulting in an even, neat texture.
Extras and matching pieces
If you would like to change the character of this style, you can choose a beanie with pom-pom in the same colour and made from the same yarn. You can also pair it with matching shawls, wraps and snoods if you want a coordinated set for the colder season.
Merino wool needs gentle care, so before washing it is worth checking the short guide: how to care for wool. With this style, it is also worth keeping in mind its moderate tendency to pill, which is typical of softer yarns worn regularly.
