CHMURKA Turn-Up Alpaca Beanie 37 Bluebird Blue
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
CHMURKA Alpaka 37 Bluebird is a handmade turn-up beanie made from an alpaca-blend yarn, in a medium weight with a gently fluffy surface, designed for the autumn-winter season. To check whether a specific piece is ready to ship or made to order, click your chosen size.
When this beanie is a good choice
This style works well if you are looking for a warm winter beanie that does not feel very heavy, while still covering the ears well thanks to the turn-up. It suits everyday city outfits especially well when you want to add a stronger colour accent on colder days. It may not be the best choice for people who are exceptionally sensitive to wool itchiness — with very delicate skin, contact with alpaca may be noticeable.
Alpaca-blend yarn and how it feels on the skin
The beanie is made from a yarn with a high proportion of alpaca wool, with added polyamide and wool, creating a light, springy and warm knit with a subtle halo. It feels soft and cosy to the touch, but on a very sensitive scalp or forehead, natural fibres may cause slight itchiness — in that case, it may help to wear it over loose hair or with a headband underneath. The use of yarn certified to OEKO‑TEX Standard 100 also speaks to the quality and durability of the beanie.
To help preserve the qualities of the knit and its shape, I recommend following this short guide: how to care for wool.
The CHMURKA shape and how it sits on the head
This is a long, turn-up beanie with a light oversized shape — once worn, the folded brim creates an extra layer over the ears and the top may slouch slightly. The same single rib knit runs through the full height, so the fabric stretches easily and adapts to the shape of the head. This model is a good option if you like the classic beanie form, but with a slightly more relaxed, softer finish rather than a close-fitting hat.
How this beanie works in everyday wear
- Turn-up ribbed shape — helps the beanie stay in place and gives better ear coverage on windy days.
- Medium-weight knit — provides noticeable warmth in typical autumn and winter conditions without feeling too heavy or overly warm.
- Yarn with a high alpaca content — combines good insulation with lightness, making it easy to wear every day and tuck into a bag or pocket.
- Gentle visible halo on the surface — gives it a soft, cloud-like texture and slightly softens the look of the intense Bluebird colour.
- High resistance to pilling — helps the beanie keep a neat appearance through many seasons of regular wear.
- Hand-knitted — gives the stitches a refined finish and helps the knit sit evenly, making it easier to wear with different hairstyles.
- Eco-leather label attached with a snap — lets you remove the decorative detail before washing or whenever you prefer a more minimal look.
Finishing details and matching accessories
Each beanie in the CHMURKA series is hand-knitted by me, with care taken over even yarn tension and a consistent turn-up shape, so that after washing it is easy to return it to its original form. The rich Bluebird shade pairs well with both dark and light outerwear, making it easier to add the beanie to an existing wardrobe without changing your whole outfit. If you would like a coordinated set, you can choose a matching shawl, scarf or snood to create a complete set in natural fibres, either colour-matched or contrasting depending on your preference.
