| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |

What this beanie is designed for
This style is a good option if you are looking for a warm yet very lightweight beanie for the colder part of the season, without the feel of heavy knitwear on your head. It works well for everyday wear in the city, in typical winter and late autumn weather, when you want head coverage that does not feel bulky. It may not be enough for extremely low temperatures or long periods in strong mountain wind – in those conditions, a thicker wool beanie is a better choice. It is also not suitable for people who are extremely sensitive to wool and cannot tolerate even a light brush of the fibres.
Material and feel against the skin
The beanie is handmade from a yarn containing 71% alpaca and 25% wool, with added polyamide to help stabilise the knit. The fibres have a visible soft halo, which gives the beanie its fluffy look and a cocooning feel while keeping the weight low. Most wearers find this blend soft and comfortable against the skin, but if your scalp or forehead is very sensitive, you may notice a slight prickle. In that case, it may be worth wearing it over a thin headband or choosing a different type of yarn.
Shape, fit and style
This model is a folded-brim beanie with a light oversized effect, knitted in a single rib stitch. This shape gives it a flexible fit and lets you gently adjust the depth by changing the height of the fold. The single rib helps it stay in place well, while the thin, lightweight knit does not feel tight or create a “pressure band” effect across the forehead. The beanie naturally falls into a soft shape with a little ease above the head, which makes it easy to wear with both relaxed and more polished outfits.
How this beanie performs in everyday wear
- Thin, lightweight alpaca and merino knit – gives noticeable warmth without much weight, which makes it comfortable for daily wear and easy to carry.
- Visible soft halo on the surface – creates a fluffy visual effect and an extra layer of air close to the skin, but with frequent wear it may also encourage natural pilling.
- Rib stitch throughout – stretches with the head circumference, so the beanie sits well while adapting to different hairstyles.
- Folded brim – creates a double layer of knit over the ears and forehead for better protection from the cold, while also allowing you to adjust the height of the beanie.
- Autumn–winter season – the construction and thickness make it suitable for typical urban weather in the colder months, but it is not intended as the thickest option for severe frost.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – this means that with normal use, a few small fibre bobbles may appear, which can be removed carefully to keep the beanie looking neat.
- Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified yarn – confirms that the yarn has been tested for harmful substances, which may matter if the beanie is worn directly against the skin often.
Finishing and matching accessories
The beanie is hand-knitted, which allows precise control over the knit density and the elasticity of the ribbing. It is finished with a Nitkowe Love eco-leather label, which can be unclipped for washing to help protect both the knit and the detail itself. If you would like to create a coordinated set, you can choose matching shawls, wraps or snoods to go with the beanie, making it easier to keep a similar level of warmth around the neck.
To help maintain the shape and qualities of the yarn, hand washing in lukewarm water is recommended; you can find more tips in the wool care guide, which helps you choose the right cleaning method for alpaca beanies and other wool accessories.
