WATA CUKROWA Women's Alpaca Beanie 09 Sea Green
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
The handmade WATA CUKROWA turn-up beanie in sea green is a thin, lightweight alpaca and merino wool beanie for the autumn and winter season, with a visible soft halo and a looser oversized shape. To check availability (ready to ship or made to order), click your chosen size on the product page.
Sea Green – when this beanie is a good choice
This style works well if you are looking for a warm winter beanie that is not heavy or bulky, while still giving protection on colder days in the city or during relaxed walks. It is a good option for everyday wear when you want your head covered but do not like the feel of a thick, “armoured” hat. In very harsh mountain wind or exceptionally low temperatures, it is better to choose a thicker style from the collection if you tend to feel cold easily. The sea green shade suits cooler, slightly muted greens.
Material and feel against the skin
The beanie is made from a blend with a high proportion of alpaca wool, with added wool and a small amount of synthetic fibre to stabilise the yarn and help it hold its shape. The knit is lightweight, fluffy, and has a visible soft halo typical of alpaca wool beanies – it feels gently cosy, but it may still be noticeable on the skin. If you have a very sensitive scalp or tend to find wool itchy, it is worth considering a beanie made from a different, smoother yarn.
Shape and fit
This is an oversized turn-up beanie, knitted in a single rib stitch. This shape allows it to adapt gently to the head circumference without strong pressure, while leaving a little extra height. The turn-up can be worn higher or lower, making it easier to adjust the depth to your own preference and the weather. The elasticity of the knit helps the beanie sit softly rather than standing stiffly on the head.
How this beanie works in everyday wear
- Thin, lightweight knit – gives a sense of protection from the cold without the feel of a heavy, chunky hat.
- Visible soft halo – creates a cosy, wrapped-up feel, but it does need gentle handling, as frequent friction may cause moderate pilling.
- Rib stitch and turn-up – help the beanie stay in place on the head, reducing slipping during everyday activities.
- Oversized shape – offers a looser fit, a good choice if you do not like a close-fitting beanie.
- Autumn/winter season – suitable for typical city cold and light wind, but it is not a replacement for a thick, close-fitting beanie in extreme frost.
- Natural fibres – help maintain thermal comfort without an overheated feel when temperatures change, as long as the beanie is worn in line with its seasonal purpose.
- Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified yarn – confirms that the yarn has been tested for the presence of selected undesirable substances in the finished textile product.
Finishing details and matching accessories
This handmade beanie is finished with a Nitkowe Love eco-leather label, which can be easily unfastened before washing. This makes care easier and helps protect the detail from getting wet. You can also choose matching shawls, wraps and snoods if you would like a coordinated set for colder days – also if you are, for example, looking for an alpaca scarf in a colour that works with this beanie. Wool fibres keep their qualities best with gentle care, so before the first wash it is worth having a look at the short guide: wool care.
