WATA CUKROWA Women's Alpaca Beanie 15 Beige
| I do my best to show the colours as accurately as possible in the photos, but sometimes my phone has its own ideas ;) Please remember that shades may also look slightly different depending on your screen settings. If I have added several photos, it is worth looking at all of them together for the best colour reference. |
A thin, lightweight beanie with a folded brim, made from an alpaca and merino wool blend. It is hand-knitted and designed as a fluffy winter beanie with a soft, visible halo. To check whether a specific piece is ready to ship or made to order, click on your chosen size.
When the beige WATA CUKROWA beanie is a good choice
This style works well if you are looking for a warm winter beanie but do not want it to feel heavy on your head, and prefer a light, springy knit instead. The beige shade is a good option if you want a calm, neutral colour that pairs easily with different coats and jackets. Thanks to its thin, breathable structure, it is a practical choice for everyday wear in autumn and winter in typical city conditions. If you often spend time in very strong wind or your skin is extremely sensitive to wool, this version may not meet all expectations.
Material and feel on the skin
The beanie is made from yarn containing 71% alpaca, 25% wool (merino) and 4% polyamide, with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, which means the yarn has been tested for harmful substances. The knit is thin and very lightweight, with a distinct, soft halo that creates an insulating layer of air between the fibres and the skin. In practice, this gives a sense of warmth without strong pressure around the head, especially around the ears and forehead. For people with very sensitive skin, the natural fibres of alpaca and wool may still feel slightly itchy, so in that case it may help to wear a thin headband underneath.
Shape and fit
This is a folded-brim beanie with a slightly oversized shape, hand-knitted by me in a single rib stitch. The elastic stitch helps the knit adapt to the shape of the head, while returning to its original form after wear. The folded brim creates a double layer over the ears, which affects the level of warmth felt in that area. The beanie is not stiff — it falls softly, so you can slightly adjust the height of the fold and the amount of slouch at the top, depending on how you like to wear your beanies.
How this beanie performs in everyday wear
- Thin, lightweight construction – it keeps your head warm without feeling heavy, which makes it easier to wear for many hours, for example on the way to work or university.
- Distinct, soft halo on the knit – the fluffy surface helps retain warmth on colder days, but it does need gentler care and mindful wear under hoods to reduce pilling.
- Ribbed knit with a folded brim – the flexible structure helps the beanie stay in place well, while the double layer over the ears gives extra protection from the cold where it is usually felt most.
- Alpaca and merino wool blend – the natural fibres provide thermal comfort in typical autumn and winter conditions, but in very strong mountain wind you may still want an extra layer of protection.
- Moderate resistance to pilling – with regular wear, small pills may appear, so it is best to remove them by hand from time to time rather than using a fabric shaver.
- Neutral beige colour – easy to pair with both light and dark outerwear, which makes it simpler to build one versatile set for the season.
- Hand-knitted finish – each beanie has its own individual character and may differ slightly from others in the same series, which is worth keeping in mind if you are ordering a matching set for two people.
Details and care
The beanie is finished with a removable eco-leather logo tag from Nitkowe Love, which you can easily take off before washing to help preserve its appearance for longer. If you would like to build a coordinated set, you can match this beanie with matching shawls, wraps and snoods, creating a complete beige set or a contrasting combination for autumn and winter. Because of the fibre content, the beanie requires hand washing in lukewarm water — you can find more guidance in the wool care guide, which helps with choosing suitable products and the right drying method.
